Today’s ride: Guadalhorce!!!!!! No clue what to expect but by the excitement of Christine Lynch I figured it would be epic like usual. First off, the sunrise was totally amazing. Second, the sun came booming out and really warmed it up fast. Such a great start to the day. Now off to the ride rundown.
Starting off we went through Antequera and then left town and started to head out. After leaving town we went up a bit of a hill revealing this amazing castle. What makes it even better is the background too. That’s La Peña which looks exactly like the side profile of a face with every detail. Super cool. We biked up towards that the other day but today it was in the background which was just perfect. Next we went out on a small roll road through the olive trees with epic views of the mountains and rock formations. It was pretty cool we went right by a wolf park. I didn’t see any but if we would of went up in there I bet we could have seen a few. After the wolf park the views just blew my mind! It just kept getting better and better. We summited via a very small road that was just beautiful. Panoramic views everywhere and the sun was shining so bright.
Coming down from the top you could see the Guadalhorce reservoir. It was such an aqua blue. Gorgeous! Reminded me of my time up in Whistler hiking up through the Joffre Lakes filled with stunning glacier water. What a view the whole way down to the reservoir via a twisty turns road that seemed like a rally car video game. It was so much fun! Every turn you could see more and it made me so happy.
The crew stopped and hung out for lunch right next to the reservoir. Very nice little cafe where we all had some delicious coffee and shared a plate of ham, olives, and cheese with a basket of fresh bread. How great is that? I love lunch breaks in Spain!
Since we we were right next to this beautiful reservoir of Guadalhorce, I figured no better way to remember it than jumping into its freezing fountain of youth water. Exhilarating!!!! It was so good that I jumped a seeing time and swam very quickly to get out again. I was vibrating when I got out and all the colors looked brighter and each breath was more fresh. Quite the fun time!

The whole way home was absolutely gorgeous and I loved every moment. Look at this view. Whoa!

All in all one heck of an epic day. Had a beautiful time and enjoyed the amazing sights all day. I will remember all these spots so just let me know and I will take you on a tour next time we are all in the same place. In the setting sun I wish you all peace. Pura Vida!
